Description:	Manufactured by Mitsubishi Materials, all three types of precious metal clay (PMC)- PMC Standard, PMC +, and PMC 3 consist of precious metal (silver) in powdered form, a non-toxic organic binder (clay) and water. The differences between the 3 types are firing times, firing temperatures, and shrinkage rates. These variances are the result of differences in the particle size of the metal, and the percentages of the binder within the clay. PMC Standard is available in lump clay form, and is the most malleable of the clays. PMC Standard should be fired at 1650 degrees fahrenheit for 2 hours. PMC Standard contains larger metal particles, and a higher percentage of binder and water. PMC Standard stays moist and workable the longest out of the three clay options. This clay is resistant to cracking and also has the highest shrinkage rate of about 28%. A higher shrinkage rate is a benefit when making highly detailed pieces as it intensifies the surface texture and detail. The larger metal particles result in a less dense and therefore lighter weight piece.
