Bugle and Tube Beads

We're thrilled to announce our monumental special purchase of over 200,000 kilos of Handmade Vintage Italian glass beads! We've bought up oodles of exquisite examples of fine, hand-crafted vintage Murano glass beads made by Societa Veneziana Conterie. Societa Veneziana Conterie was a consortium of 16 independent Venetian bead makers that joined together from 1898-1992. When the consortium shut its doors in 1992, our friends over at Prairie Edge Trading and Galleries rescued all of the consortium's remaining stock of glass beads from an uncertain future. Earlier this summer, we scooped up the the entire lot, to ensure that these little pieces of beaded history can once again be shared and appreciated by all! Most of our Vintage Venetian Seed, Crow, and Chevron Beads were manufactured between the late 1800's and 1920's, while our colorful and intricate Murano Mosaic beads were manufactured in the 1960's-70's.

Description:	These beautiful antique style Czech Cathedral Beads from Preciosa Ornela appear to have built in textured bead caps! Crafted from superior quality Czech glass, these beads are molded into their desired shape and then coated in a color, usually silver or gold, but sometimes other hues. The bead is then faceted and fire polished around the center, leaving the ends coated in color to create a stunning glass treasure! Some cathedral beads are not dipped in color, but still display the attractive texturing on the ends. Cathedral beads are perfect for adding a tasteful vintage feel to your jewelry designs. Cathedral beads also are quite popular in rosary designs.
