Aventurine

Aventurine is an often banded translucent to opaque variety of the quartz family, often with tiny sparkling mineral inclusions. While the most common form of aventurine is green, it can also be found in shades of blue, red, and white. It is commonly dyed to produce bold shades of red, blue or green, and also for color consistency. Aventurine's name stems from the Italian "By Chance" from the accidental discovery of "Aventurine Glass" more widely known as Goldstone.
