Description: Lepidolite is a form of mica that commonly occurs in granite pegmatites. Its name is thought to stem from the Hindu word lila, meaning game or play. This pretty lavender stone was discovered in the eighteenth century, but has only recently become widely available. Lepidolite is believed to relive everyday stress, and attract good luck. Another possibility for the origin of this stone's name is from the Greek lepidos, meaning scale, most likely because of the sparkly scale like inclusions.
