Opal

An opal's radiant play of color is caused by the water content within the stone, up to 16%. Opals should be worn as often as possible to avoid letting the stone dry out. They should also be protected from chemicals and sunlight for the same reason. Our unpolished opal chips offer a subtle yet sophisticated opalesence to any beading project, and pair very well with labradorite beads.

Description: Owyhee Blue Opal (Oh-WAH-hee) matrixed stone beads display an irresistible marbling of opalescent robin's egg blues, soft greys, and warm browns. These unique opal beads are mined in Oregon and are between 5.5-6.5 on the MOH's hardness scale.
Owyhee Blue Opal is photosensitive. Take care to avoid over exposure to light.
