This class is for you! Join fellow beginners and create a one-of-a-kind necklace and earring set! Learn to make a basic wire loop to build your earrings and string a matching necklace onto beading wire, using crimp beads to secure the clasp of your choice. Along the way, discover the eclectic world of beading- types of beads and clasps, the correct stringing mediums for your projects, basic color theory, and which tools to use for what jobs. Leave this class with your own unique jewelry pieces and the knowledge and skills to dive into this exciting world on your own! Instructor: Claudia Bingham Baker is the owner and designer for Capitol Chic, a pearl and bead stringing company. An experienced instructor, Claudia has been beading for a decade, and strings professionally for local jewelers. Also Shipwreck Bead's pearl-knotting instructor, Claudia is known for her patience, good humor, individual attention and passion for jewelry. Supplies: You need to bring enough beads to create a necklace and earrings. Two 16 Inch Strands of assorted beads should be enough. You'll also need a clasp for your necklace and a pair of ear wires for your earrings. The instructor will provide the beading wire, tools, and crimps. You may also want a pair of reading glasses or a magnifying lens for the itty-bitty stuff. Due to limited seating, we ask that you register for class ahead of time to ensure a spot is available for you.
