Description:	Title: Basic Wire Jewelry Techniques Location: Shipwreck Beads- 8560 Commerce Place Dr. Lacey Wa, 98616 Skill Level: Beginner Instructor: Christine Hansen Description: Class is held on: June 9th 12:00PM-5:00PM. This class offers students a solid grounding in ten elemental jewelry-making techniques, including working with wire and jump rings, and making plain loops and wrapped loops. Students will also learn how to create a bead dangle, a wire spiral, a bead link, and a wire-wrapped bead. With home practice, the skills learned in this class will enable students to create a wide variety of jewelry, including earrings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces and more. During class, we'll be focusing mostly on techniques rather than completed projects; each student will receive a handout containing notes on the information presented, as well as "recipes" for creating jewelry at home, based on the techniques learned in class. Instructor Christine Hansen is a glass bead artist, veteran jewelry designer, and co-author of the best-selling book, Making Mixed Media Art Charms & Jewelry Supplies: It's a great idea to make sure your supplies coordinate (ex. copper jump rings, copper wire, copper head pins, etc.). Please Bring: 7 Grams of 8mm 18 Gauge Jump Rings, 7 Grams 2 Inch Head Pins, 1 Spool of 2 Sizes of UNCOATED shaping wire: 18 and 20 Gauge Bare Copper Artistic Wire or 20 and 22 Gauge Round Beadalon Stainless Steel Wire are both great choices, Assorted Beads: When selecting beads, make sure the holes are large enough to accommodate the wire you selected. In a coordinating palette: 125 Gram Box Czech Pressed Bead Mix CZ5130* and EITHER one strand 6/0 Seed Beads or 4 mm Czech Rondelle Optional: 1-2 Pairs Hook Ear Wires of your choice, A single strand Clasp: Lobster (05X10mm or larger) or Toggle Clasp (15mm or larger). Required Tools: The following tools are required for this class. If you already have any of these items, please bring them to class.
