Description: Class is held on: June 9th 10:00AM - 1:00PM.
This exciting class is all about hammering and forming wire. We will be doing a wire wrap around a cabochon or other flat backed stone to hold the piece in place to create a stunning pendant. The best wire to use is dead soft copper, brass or silver. I will also be teaching you how to anneal wire when it gets hard to work with. If you like the antiqued look we can dip the wire in liver of sulfur and then polish it up.
Tools: Flush Cutters and a pair of smooth chain nose or needle nose pliers
Supplies: 22 Gauge Artistic Wire and an oval or tear drop cabochon Students bring if you have: Metal hole punch, chasing or ball peen hammer, and a stainless steel hammering block or anvil.
Instructor will provide: 12 Gauge copper wire as well as additional hammers, blocks, liver of sulfur, torches, and additional tools to share with the class.
Due to limited seating, we ask that you register for class ahead of time to ensure a spot is available for you.
