Modern crow beads are Czech glass beads known as "rollers". They are far more uniform than older style crow beads, and they come in a huge assortment of colors and finishes, some are even faceted! Large sized seed beads, also from the Czech zrepublic are similar to the old fashioned crow beads, and are less uniform than roller beads, adding to their vintage appeal!
