Description: Prehnite (Calcium Aluminum Silicate Hydroxide) is an appetizing semi translucent lime to grassy green gem that until recently was rather rare. Originally discovered by Dutch Colonel Hendrik von Prehn circa 1774, this stone has the distinction of being the first gem to be named for it's discoverer. Prehnite is a rather hard and durable gem with a MOHS hardness of 6-6.5. Prehnite is believed to foster unconditional love and is often associated with the archangel Raphael. Use Prehnite in conjunction with Obsidian during mediation to help ground the spirit.
