Description:	Blister pearls are also referred to as Mabe Pearls. A blister pearl forms when a foreign object invades, or is implanted into the body of a mollusk, usually an oyster or a mussel. Regular pearls form in the soft flesh of the creature, while blister pearls form against the animal's shell. Because it is formed against a hard shell, blister pearls will always have one flat side. When sections of shell have numerous blister pearls, the entire section of the shell can be formed into uniquely beautiful pieces.
