"Slow Glass" 4 Strand Torsade Necklace

Four Strands, each 18 inches in length, are combined here for a very luscious play in table cut windowed glass beads. The design allows one to wear the necklace as you see it, or to wind the strands into a tighter torsade for a different look! All of the beads have a deep gold metallic finish except for where the windows are cut away. Some have clear or slightly smoke colored windows and some have topaz colored windows! Three pair of earrings created to coordinate! Length of the necklace with the hand made clasp os 19 3/4 inches. See the next picture for an enlargement of the clasp. I found a way to wire wrap an attractive clasp that coordinates very well with the necklace in a bronze color coated art wire. Silver or bright gold would have detracted from the overall look and I was very happy to have solved this problem! The title, "Slow Glass". is something of an Sci-Fi engineering reference. I hope you scientific types don't mind my little play with this reference to what used to be an old fictional scientific phenomenon. Obviously this isn't really "Slow Glass"!! You can do a Google search on Slow Glass and find some very interesting reading! There is such a thing now and it is a particular scientific phenomenon that takes some very fancy engineering and physics! In a nut shell the idea is that light passes through "slow glass" and with an exaggerated slow speed, capturing events viewed through this type of glass as moving in very slow motion. Sort of a time altered state of viewing events outside of the time continuum that we usually relate to.
