Collage Brooch with Russian and Caged Bead Work

This brooch is all hand wired components applied to a perforated caged back, that attaches to a base component with a pin clasp attached.
Russian beaded leaves and flowers are mixed with dyed quartz, Swarovski opal crystals, faux pearls of glass, pressed Czech glass melon beads of emerald accented with topaz Swarovski Crystals, and a caged wired leaf. I am sure I have left something out, as there are many components and lots of hours of prep time before the bits and parts come to the arrangement of the final composition! The brooch measures 2 1/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches and has a depth of 1 inch. Piled high, this piece offers a very dimensional composition that, from every angle, offers a broad palette of dimension, texture, and color. Although the colors look primary in blue/green in the photo, periwinkle, topaz, aqua, opal, and shades of green in emerald and peridot with different finishes (some glossy and transparent, some matte and opaqe)offer a lot of interplay in color. Must be held to be fully appreciated!
