Halloween Crocheted Knot Bracelet (Preciosa Ornela)

This bold crocheted knot bracelet is adapted from a Preciosa Ornela design by Alexandra Lysenko. You’ll crochet two seed‑bead ropes (one patterned, one solid), tie a simple knot, and cap the ends with tidy beaded sleeves before adding a magnetic clasp. Festive, comfy, and very October.

Materials & Tools

Difficulty: ●●○   Technique: bead crochet & herringbone stitch   Time: ~2–3 hours

Step‑by‑Step

  1. String for two tubes. For the patterned tube, string 10/0 beads onto ~150 cm of crochet thread following the color chart (see pattern). For the solid tube, string ~150 cm with orange 10/0s. Target finished tube length: about 22 cm each (≈ 17 cm bracelet once knotted).
  2. Start the round. Make a generous initial loop. Chain 6 times with a bead each time, then join into a circle so you have a 6‑bead ring.
  3. Crochet in a spiral. Work slip stitches with beads, always turning each bead so its hole faces upward along the crochet path. Keep tension even. Continue until all strung beads are used to form two flexible tubes.
  4. Close tube ends. Use the remaining thread tails to stitch each tube’s open ends together neatly. Insert an eye pin into each tube end.
  5. Beaded caps (black, 10/0). Stitch a short herringbone band: start with a ring of 4 beads and build up to a strip about 22 beads around, then sew the strip into a ring and add a couple of rows. In the final rows, decrease by stitching through every second bead so it cinches into a tidy cap.
  6. Seat the caps. Slide a cap over each tube end, stitch in place around the edges, and tighten the decrease row so the cap hugs the tube.
  7. Knot & clasp. Arrange the two tubes, tie a simple overhand knot at the center, and align the capped ends. Add a decorative 8/0 bead to each eye pin, form a loop, connect jump rings, and attach the magnetic clasp.

Variations

  • Colorway swap: purple + neon green with black caps for a witchy vibe.
  • Statement knot: make the tubes longer (25–26 cm) for a larger center knot.
  • Non‑magnetic option: toggle clasp with soldered rings instead of magnetic.
