Liquid gold beads can be used as spacers, but look best when used as the foundation of your piece. If you decide to create a shimmering multi-strand liquid gold necklace, expect to use <i>a lot</i> of these tiny beads (the results are well worth it)!<br>Gold filled beads, also known as gold overlay, are a solid layer of gold bonded to a base metal. At least 1/20 of the total weight of the item must be pure gold to be called gold filled and the plating is 50 to 100,000 times thicker than regular gold plating. Thicker plating results in a more durable and longer lasting plate.
