These vintage Venetian seed beads were crafted between the late 1800s and early 1920s, a testament to the extraordinary skill of Murano glass artisans working under Societa Veneziana Conterieconsortium of sixteen independent beadmakers united in 1898. Each bead carries over a century of history, made from glass canes that often predate the consortium itself. Because every batch was handmade, subtle differences in shape, size, and color are to be expected and celebrated. Most strands have long since given way to time, so a few broken bits of string may be found among these authentic treasures.
