Start with the size, because it is the thing that surprises people. These are micro seed beads, and they are very small. This lot measured 1.41–1.53mm, and micro lots from this stock are not uniform — see the disclosure below before you commit to a count-critical piece.

The colour is a pale blush pink carrying a pearly luster, and the perforations read a distinctly warmer terracotta where the coating did not reach into the cut. At this scale that two-tone effect becomes the character of the bead rather than a detail: a filled area reads as soft pink shot through with warm rings, not as flat pink. Worth knowing if you are matching a solid blush — the hole colour is part of what you will see.

Sorting at this scale. Uncirculated warehouse stock of this age carries the occasional off-colour bead, and at micro scale picking them out is slow work under good light. If you need a clean single-colour field, order enough to sort from and budget the time.

These beads are sold as micro seed beads in the 16/0–24/0 range. Random sampling and measurement across our SVC micro inventory has confirmed that individual beads within any given lot range from approximately 0.9mm to 1.5mm, spanning multiple nominal size designations. This is characteristic of hand-drawn Murano micro production, where the extremely fine cane diameter made precise size control difficult at this scale. The variation is inherent to the manufacturing process, not a sorting or grading inconsistency on our part. We disclose this range rather than assigning a single size that does not accurately represent the lot.

Note: Due to their extremely small size, these micro beads may not be suitable for all beading projects. We recommend using a beading tray and fine needle for best results.

A size 13–15 needle with very fine silk or 0.06–0.10mm thread is the realistic pairing, and every lot wants a test-thread before you begin. Uncirculated old stock, never strung for trade. Small lot, finite old stock.
