Genuine Venetian 10/0 seed beads from old Società Veneziana Conterie warehouse stock, in Green Yellow #1 — transparent chartreuse glass carrying a luster finish. The base color sits at the intersection of green and yellow: a light, sunlit chartreuse with the quality of white wine or young spring growth, leaning green without abandoning its golden warmth. Over that transparent glass, a thin pearlescent luster coating adds a soft surface sheen, so the beads both transmit light through the glass and catch it at the surface.

The combination gives this lot a doubled optical life: the transparency compounds color where beads overlap — deepening toward olive-gold at the center of massed beadwork, lightening to sparkling clarity at the edges — while the luster contributes a gentle, milky shimmer that softens the glassy read of plain transparent chartreuse. A plain transparent or opaque green-yellow of similar hue will look visibly different in finished work.
