Antique SVC Venetian Color Lined Micro Seed Beads — Clear Forest Green

Genuine Venetian micro seed beads from old Società Veneziana Conterie warehouse stock, in Clear Forest Green — a color-lined construction with crystal-clear transparent glass over a deep forest-green lining at the core. The color lives inside the bead rather than in the glass itself: each bead shows a bright, glassy clear rim around a dark green center, and massed together the lot reads as a cool, smoky pine green with a silvery sparkle where light catches the clear outer layer.

This construction produces an optical effect that neither solid transparent nor opaque green can replicate — the dark lining glows through the clear glass, shifting between deep green and glittering silver-white depending on light and viewing angle. In finished beadwork the effect is dimensional and frost-like: a dark green field with built-in points of light. As with all lined beads, the lining is the working surface of the color: avoid prolonged moisture and abrasion, and test a sample before applications involving heavy wear.

For restoration and traditional beadwork, color-lined beads are their own category — substituting a transparent, opaque, or greasy green of similar hue will lose the lined construction's clear rim and inner glow, and will read as incorrect next to original lined work. Note: Due to their extremely small size, these micro beads may not be suitable for all beading projects. We recommend using a beading tray and fine beading needle for best results.
