Genuine Venetian micro seed beads from old Società Veneziana Conterie warehouse stock, in Spring Green #1. This is a fresh, medium apple green in solid opaque glass — lively and warm, with a slight yellow lean that gives it the character of new spring growth. It sits between the pale, grayed sage tones and the deeper grass greens of the SVC palette: saturated enough to read as a deliberate, confident green, without the darkness or blue shift of the forest range.

The surface carries a soft satin finish with modest gloss, giving massed beadwork a clean, even texture where no individual bead outshines its neighbors. Color consistency across the lot is very good for hand-drawn Murano production. Solid opaque construction: the color is carried through the glass, not layered or lined. Occasional stray beads from adjacent color lots — including a scattering of teal — and minor debris fragments may be present, consistent with undisturbed warehouse inventory.

Fresh mid-greens like this one filled a specific role in period beadwork — bright, organic accents that contrasted with the earth tones and primary trade colors dominating a design. In restoration contexts, the position of a green matters: substituting a paler sage or a deeper grass green where an apple green was used will shift the tonal balance of the surrounding original work.
