Antique SVC Venetian Transparent Micro Seed Beads — Dandelion #2

Genuine Venetian micro seed beads from old Società Veneziana Conterie warehouse stock, in Transparent Dandelion #2. This is a bright, pure golden yellow in fully transparent glass — a true dandelion that commits to yellow without drifting green or orange, with the vivid, sunny clarity of its namesake. Individual beads are sparkling points of golden light; massed together, the color compounds through overlapping layers of transparent glass into a dense, glowing field of gold that reads as nearly solid despite each bead being fully transparent.

The shift from scattered sparkle at the edges of the beadwork to saturated golden intensity where beads sit dense is dramatic and immediate — a behavior unique to transparent glass. Apparent depth varies slightly with bead wall thickness and lighting; the underlying glass chemistry is uniform across the lot, and color consistency is excellent.

For restoration and traditional beadwork, transparent yellow served as a key accent color in the Venetian palette — highlights, warm focal points, and areas where the maker wanted maximum brightness and active light interaction. A transparent dandelion behaves completely differently in finished work from an opaque or greasy yellow of similar hue: the sparkle, light transmission, and compounding depth cannot be replicated with other finish types.
