French wire — also called gimp or bullion — is the coiled metal tubing that gives strung necklaces and bracelets that clean, jeweler-finished look where thread meets clasp. This 0.8mm gold-plate version from Beadalon gives you one full meter to work with.
The gold-plate finish is warm and lustrous, reading as richly traditional — right at home alongside pearls, garnets, or anything with a Regency-era or old-money aesthetic.

What to make with them

French Wire, also known as 'Gimp' and 'Bullion' is used to cover and protect bead cord from friction and breakage at the clasp area. By covering the ends of the bead cord, Bullion Wire fortifies the silk beading cord and also gives the design a professional finish.
To use: cut two matching pieces of French Wire between 1/4” and 3/8” depending on the size of the clasp rings, and use it both when beginning and ending a knotted or strung strand.
